Dr. Bauer Honored by CCFA

Last October, Dr. Bauer was honored by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation in their Broadway’s Got Guts fundraising event. Dr. Bauer has had a lifelong commitment to treating and curing inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis). Over his career, he has provided and helped improve several innovative, minimally invasive surgical techniques for these diseases, allowing patients to avoid a permanent stoma and not need to wear an ostomy appliance. These debilitating diseases affect over 1.6 million patients, often striking when people are younger and at the peak of their growth and development. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation works towards ending the suffering caused by these ailments through patient-supportive programming and research—over 600,000 individuals were helped and over $29 million was invested in research on inflammatory bowel diseases by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation last year.

Dr. Bauer has had a long-standing relationship with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and previously served as the chairman of the New York Chapter’s Medical Advisory Board. We thank everyone who was able to attend this event and encourage those who are interested to get involved and support the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
